TIDA-010232: Using in EV Vehicle

Part Number: TIDA-010232

Hai,

We want to design a circuit similar to the TIDA-010232 for Insulation resistance measurement for our battery operated EV Vehicle.

From the reference design we will face an issue of continuous discharge through the HV Bus monitoring circuit ( R34 to R47).

This load is active even after the Vehicle is completely shutdown which causes the discharge of the battery ( even though it is very minimal it is a continuous ).

Without using any additional switches can we change the existing circuit to avoid this problem.

Venkat

  • Hello Venkat,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The measurement of the HV Bus voltage is mandatory for this kind of insulation monitoring.

The easiest way would be to add an additional switch. If this is not possible, it might be possible to connect the Bus voltage measurement outside the contactors on the EV side. if there are some kind of contactors disconnecting the battery from the on-board charger.

    Best regards,
    Andreas
