ISOW1412: What is the input voltage Range for VDD pin for Visoout = 5V ?

Part Number: ISOW1412

Hello,

From the Table 10-1 of ISOW1412 datasheet, I understand that to expect Visoout = 5V, the VDD pin cannot be supplied by 3.3V typ but should be supplied from 5V typ.

While in Table 8.2 of the datasheet, the range mentioned for VDD is 3V to 5.5V. Since the mode is not mentioned, this data conflicts with Table 10-1.

Please share the operating range of input voltage for VDD pin while Mode pin shorted to Visoout to expect Visoout = 5V.

  • Hi KrnB,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Please note that the Table in section 8.2 specifies Recommended Operating Conditions. These are the suggestions that we recommend you to use the device, any use of device beyond these ratings can lead to device damage. Thus, the table covers all the valid input ranges that the device supports including the supply voltages, datarate and temperature range. Regarding VDD, it states that the device can accept an input voltage from 3V to 5.5V for operation and any voltage outside of this can cause device damage or render device non-operational.

Table 10-1 is the Function Table where device modes and the requirements to operate the device in this mode are described. As you have already noted, VDD is required to be 5V to get VISOOUT of 5V.

I hope this is clear, thanks.

  • Hello Koteshwar,

    Thank you for explaining.

Please can you also confirm if the what is the minimum value of allowed VDD_min considering VDD_typ = 5V to get VISOOUT of 5V.

  • Hi KrnB,

    Thank you for following up.
The input voltage tolerance allowed is ±10% on 5V which gives a minimum voltage of 4.5V. Thanks.
