ISO7041-Q1: Minimum supply voltage - 1.71V or 3.0V

Part Number: ISO7041-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7041, ISO6741-Q1

We plan to use the digital Isolator ISO7041-Q1 – and / but we need a supply voltage of 1.8V.

On the TI-webpage we can search/filter for digital isolators with 1.8V and the ISO7041-Q1 shows up as the screenshot below shows:

But in the datasheet for the ISO7041-Q1 the minimum supply voltage of 3.0V is stated.

? Question 1: What is the minimum supply voltage for the ISO7041-Q1 (1.71V or 3.0V)?

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your question.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Ultimately, we recommend referring to the datasheet for the recommended operating conditions of the device. The supply voltage for the ISO7041-Q1 is 3V to 5.5V as stated in the recommended operating conditions table in the datasheet (shown below). Operation outside of the recommended operating conditions is not guaranteed. If your application is industrial, you can consider using the industrial variant (ISO7041), which can operate at 1.8V supply voltage.

The ISO7041 and ISO7041-Q1 are ultra low-power digital isolators. If your application does not require ultra low-power, then please consider using TI's most popular digital isolator, the ISO6741-Q1, which also supports 1.8V supply voltage.

    Thanks,
