ISOW7741: What is the drive current on the output channel pins?

Part Number: ISOW7741
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXB0106,

If I use the TXB0106 to level shift a 5V signal to 3.3V, the 5V signal coming from the digital isolator, will the drive current of the output channels be too low for the TXB0106 to work?

Thanks,
Lauren

  • Hi Lauren,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The data output pins of ISOW7741 support current of upto ±4mA. From TXB0106 datasheet, I couldn't make out the amount of current required by the device. If this current is <4mA then ISOW7741 can support. Please note that most logic I/O pins only require an input current of <10µA which is supported by most logic outputs including ISOW7741 data channels.

I would also like to mention that TXB0106 is a bidirectional level translator. This is a suitable device to be used with I2C interface and not for unidirectional data channels of ISOW7741 or any other digital isolator. Please reach out to the logic team for most optimum device suggestion for customer application. Thanks.
