ISO7760: max data rate

Genius 12865 points
Part Number: ISO7760

Hello Team,

looking at below table I calculate a max frequency of 1/6ns = 167MHz which means a data rate of max 333Mbps should be possible.

Please let me know if my calculation is correct. My customer plans to use the ISO7760 at a data rate of 120Mbps which should be possible, correct?

Ambient temperature range = 0...70°C.

Thank you and Best Regards,

Hans

  • Hello Hans,

The device has a maximum guaranteed data rate of 100Mbps. Of course this is considering full operating range, across temperatures, with a 15pF load capacitance.

As you noted the rise time is the biggest indicator of data rate support.

I believe that the device could support 120Mbps with the device if the load capacitance is limited and the trace lengths are short.

Do we know if the device is directly driving an MCU or peripheral that is close to the isolator?

We could potentially grab some quick bench data to show you the output waveform at 25C at this data rate to give some better perspective as to typical performance.

    Best,
    Michael
