ISOM8710: side-1 vs side-2 definition

Part Number: ISOM8710

Hi -

On page 6 of the datasheet, it shows individual power dissipation limits for side-1 and side-2. I’m guessing side-1 is the receiver side and side-2 is the output side, but I can’t find where it explicitly defines which side is which. Can you help me understand which is side-1 and which is side-2?

Hello again Tyler,

You are correct. Side 1 refers to the diode emulator side (AN and CAT). Side 2 refers to the transistor output side (VCC, COL and EM).

Hi Tyler,

It looks like there is not a direct mention in the datasheet. I will give this feedback to the team. However, this terminology is consistent throughout the datasheet and in our other isolation devices.

Here is one mention although it is in passing.

Yes please correct in datasheet. There should be definition of side-1 and side-2 if that is the terminology used in datasheet.
