Part Number: ISOW7841

Hello,

We are using ISOW7841 IC for Ground Isolation and Digital input isolation purpose.

I have one question regarding input pin current .Is it 10µA maximum ? Should i limit the input pin current  to 10µA or lesser ?

Please let me know if  my concept for isolating digital inputs works or not.

    Hi Raveesh,

    Welcome to TI E2E forum and thank you for reaching out.

    For the device to reliably recognize input, we recommend that the input current is not limited to <10µA.
    Looking at your schematic, I expect the device to work fine. Higher input resistances could affect the input thresholds but I still expect the device operate fine. Thanks.

    May i have the exact value Maximum input current so that i can reduce current limiting resistor value .

    Hi Raveesh,

    The maximum input current value is 10µA as specified in the datasheet. If this current is not allowed, then the input voltage threshold could get affected but they will still function. Since the current is marginally not being met, I expect this circuit not to affect device input voltage thresholds much and should detect input HIGH and LOW levels correctly.
