ISO1212: Rectifier input

Part Number: ISO1212

When rectifier diode is used as below diagram, could its VF or other parameter affect the value selection of RTH and RSENSE? If not, why?

Customer wondering to know the reason how come rectifier couldn't affect design! Thanks.

Regards

Brian

  • Hello Brian,

The impact of the rectifier is negligible. However if you would like you fine tune the resistors to account for this there will be a voltage drop equal to 2*VD. Where VD is the voltage drop of the diode. You can then take the Vin-(2*VD) and use that as your input voltage and recalculate the resistances.

We have a ISO121x threshold calculator available here for direct download: http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/SLLC457
