ISO1640-Q1: ISO1640-Q1

Part Number: ISO1640-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1640

Tool/software:

I am currently designing a solution with multiple boards that communicate via I2C using a 50 cm cable. To avoid ground loops, I am using the ISO1640 on each slave board. However, I have a few doubts about the implementation since I have multiple I2C devices on the slave boards.

Is it okay to connect multiple devices on side 1?
Regarding the bus capacitance, should I add an I2C buffer on each board connected on side 2, or should I only put the buffer on the master side?
Is it better to use an isolator on the master side and the slave side, or only on the master or slave side?
