SN6501: Does it could achieve 12V->12V?

Part Number: SN6501
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN6507

Tool/software:

Hi experts,

Good day.

My customer wants to do 12V->12V, <1W power. They used SN6501 in old project before, and can it achieve 12V->12V? The input range is up to 5V from datasheet, I don't know whether it could be achieved by dividing resistor in input.

Another question is what's the isolation rating for this transformer isolation? There are functional isolation, basic, reinforced isolation. What's the rating for SN650X solution?

Thanks!

  • Hello Victoria,

SN650x is what drives the isolation transformer and does not have and isolation rating itself. Please see transformer manufacture's datasheet for its isolation performance.

I would recommend SN6507 for 12V->12V, <1W power since it is designed for a wider supply range and can still use a standard transformer. Please let me know if you think this would work for your customer.

    Best,
    Andrew
