SN6507: High Temp. rise with nominal load

Part Number: SN6507

Tool/software:

Hello,

We have developed in Isolated power supply sch using SN6507.

During testing, we found IC and TXR temperature are increasing 50+ Degree.

Below is snapshot of  SCH, output of this power schematics will drive four UCC21530B driver.

Kindly provide your suggestion on how to mitigate high temp rise in circuit.

Best Regards,

Umang

  • Hi Umang,

Is this temperature rise happen with output load of 500mA?

Are the resistors R317, 318 connected? If connected can you remove the same and test it once.

Can you please monitor the input current and share.

    Thanks.

  • Hello Shinu,

Is this temperature rise happen with output load of 500mA?

    - Yes, Load current is ~300mA

Are the resistors R317, 318 connected? If connected can you remove the same and test it once.

-Its not connected, (DNP suffix parts are not connected)

Can you please monitor the input current and share.

-Its directly supply through switcher rated output of 12V 3.5A (Complete system require 2A at full load)

    - As Its directly connected to +12V polygone its difficult to measure input current, though I will try and let you know.

    Best Regards,

    Umang
