Regarding Optocoupler 4N49

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7310C, ISO7810, ISO7840

Use of Optocoupler 4N49 in our circuit is as switch as shown in the attached diagram.

As per the datasheet, IF=2mA can give Ic upto 2mA (CTR=100% in Saturation Region). Does it include degradation over 10 or 15 years of Life and temperature variations?

What will be optimal combination of IF and Ic by considering degration over 15 years of operation and temperature variation from -25 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius for optocoupler to work as a switch?

  • Hi Kamlesh,

We do not have any Opto Isolators in our portfolio. We have Digital Isolators based on capacitive isolation. If your isolation requirement is upto 3kVrms then you can look at ISO7310C and if you need isolation upto 5.7kVrms then you can have a look at ISO7810. We also have multi-channel devices upto 4 channels (ISO7840) with various input / output combinations.
