ISO7221C-Q1: ISO7221-Q1 tolerance specification

Part Number: ISO7221C-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7331-Q1, , ISO7321-Q1, ISO7721-Q1

Hi,

I would like you to confirm meaning of following spec which is described in datasheet.

 * 4000-V peak Isolation, 560 V peak VIORM

I believe that this does NOT mean "rms", So, we can also say "2828-Vrms isolation".

Is my understanding correct ?

If so, when we require "3000-Vrms", we should choose ISO7331-Q1 for automotive grade, right ?

Best regards,

Machida

  • Hello Machida-san,

    Yes, your understanding is correct. The V-peak does not refer to RMS and we can also say it as "2828-Vrms isolation".

    For 3000-Vrms with Basic Isolation requirement we would have to use ISO7321-Q1(2 channel device) and not ISO7331-Q1 (3 channel device) to match the channel configuration of ISO7221C-Q1.

    Alternatively you can also consider ISO7721-Q1 if Reinforced Isolation is required.
