ISO7821: DC-Balance

Part Number: ISO7821

Hello  everyone

I want to use ISO7821 in my design.  But I don't know wether  DC-Balance is made inside the chip.  Do I need to make DC-Balance outside?

  • Hi Shaobo,

Thank you for showing interest in ISO7821.
To make sure we are referring to the same device, could you please confirm if you meant to refer to ISO7821 (digital isolator) or ISO7821LLS (LVDS isolator)? Please note that these devices are very different from each other.

    For ISO7821:
This device doesn't have any DC-balance requirement and it going to transmit the input data to the output exactly the way it is.

    For ISO7821LLS:
This device requires the input data to be already DC-balanced to be able to support datarate between 50Mbps to 150Mbps. The output of this device is going to be similar to input data and there is no additional internal DC-balancing done.

I hope that answers your question, thank you.
