ISO7761: Absolute voltage rating of signal input pin

Hello team,

My customer have a question that does it violate the absolute rating of the VCC supply voltage is 3.3V and the signal input voltage level is 5V?

I think it is not allowed since the absolute input rating in this case will be 3.3V+0.5V, is my understanding correct?

Hi Vincent,

Yes, applying a 5V signal on a ISO7761 input when the supply voltage is 3.3V violates the absolute maximum input rating.

The recommended condition for our customer is to not exceed Vcc on the input pins as shown on table 6.3 of the device datasheet.
