ISO7710-Q1: inquire Operating condition when Pin No.1 or 3 opens

Part Number: ISO7710-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7710

Dear TI Engineering team,

I have a question about Operating condition when Pin No.1 or 3 open regarding ISO7710-Q1(IC).

Does it work completely if one of those pin is open? If not, give me a feedback about how it works when it happens.

Pin No.1 and 3 are Vcc line. Please refer to attached pic.

Best Regards,

  • Hi Yang,

Welcome to the TI E2E Forum and thank you for reaching out to us with your question.

I believe you are referring to ISO7710-Q1 in SOIC-8 pin package and not the WB SOIC-16 pin package. When VCC1 is left floating and assuming IN is either 0V or also left floating, the OUT pin goes to default state. For ISO7710-Q1 (and not ISO7710F-Q1), the default state is HIGH. Hence, the OUT pin will go to HIGH in this case. Similarly, the OUT will go to LOW for ISO7710F-Q1 under similar situation.

This is also shown in the function table provided in ISO7710 datasheet as Table 2. I have also copied the table below for your reference, thanks.

  • Hi Yang,

I see you have rejected the answer I have provided. Please do let me know if anything is not clear to you from my post, thanks.

  • Dear Koteshwar Rao

First of all, thank you for reviewing. However, my question was not clear enough.

I am referring to ISO7710-Q1 in SOIC-8 pin package. (without  F suffix)

I want to know how it works under those condition below.

Case Pin No Name Condition IN Output
    1 1 Vcc1 Open High Feedback
    3 Vcc1 PU
    2 1 Vcc1 Open Low Feedback
    3 Vcc1 PU
    3 1 Vcc1 PU High Feedback
    3 Vcc1 Open
    4 1 Vcc1 PU Low Feedback
    3 Vcc1 Open

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Yang,

Thank you for your quick inputs and sorry for misunderstanding your question.
Pins 1 and 3 are internally connected to each other and hence are named the same. Disconnecting one of them doesn't make the device turn OFF and hence the device will operate normal just like a fully powered device and output will follow the input. Hope this answers your question.

I think you were trying to attach an image in both of your posts but it didn't show up in any of those posts. Copy-pasting doesn't post the image properly, please use the insert image option to include the image into the post. Thanks.

Let me know if you have any other question, thank you.
