ISO7821LLS: MIPI CSI-2 Isolator

Hi Team,

our customer is looking for isolator for MIPI CSI-2 interface due to safety concern, they find ADN4654 can support MIPI CSI-2 isolator. do you have similar devices? or we can have other suggestion use passive components (transformer) for isolation?

    Hi Eddie,

    ISO7821LLS is only physical layer LVDS isolator while I see MIPI CSI-2 is primarily an interface protocol. I am not very sure about the datarate and timing specifications of MIPI CSI-2, if customer finds ISO7821LL / ISO7821LLS specifications to be under MIPI CSI-2 requirements then I believe they shouldn't have any issues in using ISO7821LLS for their requirement.

    I believe ADN4654 is also a physical layer LVDS isolator, hence, ISO7821LL / ISO7821LLS should not have any issues in using it for MIPI CSI-2 provided the datarate and timing requirements of MIPI CSI-2 are met by ISO7821LL / ISO7821LLS devices. Thanks.

    The minimum data rate for MIPI CSI-2 will need 800MBPS, Can ISO7821LLS support such high data rate?

    Hi Eddie,

    Thanks for sharing that 800Bbps is the minimum datarate requirement by MIPI CSI-2. As stated in the respective datasheets, ISO7821LL supports upto 100Mbps while ISO7821LLS supports upto 150Mbps. Thanks.
