ISO7821: Isolated conversion

Part Number: ISO7821

Hi Team,

Good day.

My customer wanted to use ISO7821 for isolated 5V to 5V conversion and use ISO_5V to the USB side.
Can he connect a window compactor at Input B (at isolated side) which will detect the range of ISO 5V and depending on that under voltage and over voltage logic at OUT B (non- isolated side) will be high or low?

Is there is also a recommendation on how to terminate unconnected pins (INA and OutA) of ISO7821?

Regards,

Renan

  • Hi Renan,

Yes, you can use a window comparator to monitor 5V rail and connect its output to ISO7821 input pins, provided the output voltage of copmarator is in compliance with ISO7821 input voltage requirements. Since the output of comparator is going to be digital in nature, it can be passed through and isoalted by ISO7821.

Regarding your question on the unconnected pins, please see below FAQ. Thanks.
