ISO1176T: Using ISO1176T meet RS485&RS422&RS232?

Part Number: ISO1176T

Hi Team:

Customer side need to work with a total solution supporting RS485/422/232together, can you help to comments if the following configure is used?

since EMI is also the Key for the design, could you please help to propose other new solution if this solution is not that good?   thanks vey much!

  • Richard,

For both RS-485 and RS-422, I would suggest the ISO14xx family of devices. This family has different versions based on max data rate and for full or half duplex. For EMI concerns, please choose the lowest speed device to meet the customer's requirements. The ISO14xx family will still need isolated DC/DC power. I would suggest the SN6505 and a proper transformer.

For isolated RS-232, please refer to this reference design.

In general you would pair a 2-channel isolator with a RS-232 transceiver.

    Respectfully,

    Lucas Schulte
