ISO7761: Output polarity question

Part Number: ISO7761

Hi Team,

My customer has questions about the output polarity that he wants to know the result of below condition.

Vcci is powered with normal voltage, say 5.0V and input signal is at high level as well. And what is the output signal polarity when Vcco voltage lies between 1.7V and 2.25V?

2. When Vcci and Vcco are powered, say 5V. If input signal 2.5V that is between 0.4xVcci and 0.6xVcci, the output signal is default, right?

Thanks a lot.

  • 1. This is described in footnote (2) of table 2; the output is undetermined. When you go outside the recommended operating conditions, there are no guarantees.

    2. These are Schmitt-trigger inputs. When the input goes above VIT+, the output is high. When the input goes below VIT−, the output is low. As long as the input has not reached the rising or falling threshold voltage, the output stays at its old value.

  • Hi Vincent,

I would also like to point out the below additional points.

    1. UVLO+ and UVLO- thresholds lie between 1.7V and 2.25V and the actual levels can be anywhere in that range which can also vary from one device to another. Hence, you might find some devices fully powered-up and operating normal while others not.
    2. Please also consider the variation in VIT+ and VIT- levels which also can be different from one device to another. Table 2 explains under what conditions does the output go to default state.

  • Hi Clemens, Koteshwar,

Thanks a lot for both of your comment.
