Hi,

I would like to check whether are below parts able to undergo the washing process ( DI Water), Cleanning by Water. If yes, please help to provide relevant supporting documents.

  • Hi Electrobud,

Thank you for posting to E2E! Most TI devices are able to undergo unpowered cleaning in DI water and submerged ultrasonic cleaning in DI water baths after PCB assembly. Please allow some 1 - 2 days for me to confirm whether we have documentation formally supporting this -- meanwhile, is there a particular supporting document you are looking for?

    Thank you,
    Manuel Chavez

  • Hi Manuel,

Noted with thanks, however please share with us the documents after checking through. Probably an official letter or statement by stating that the parts are able to undergo the DI water process.

  • Hi Electrobud,

    You're welcome!

TI has a recommended handling, storing, and mounting process: application report AN-2029 Handling & Process Recommendations (SNOA550H) provides recommendations for handling, storing, and mounting Texas Instruments' surface mount IC packages.

Please reference the latest versions of published IPC-J-STD-004, IPC-JEDEC J-STD-020, and IPC-JEDEC J-STD-033 documents and work with your suppliers of flux or cleaning solvent to determine optimum cleaning conditions. Below is the snippet of TI's PCB Cleaning recommendation per the linked application report:

    Respectfully,
    Manuel Chavez
