ISOW7841A-Q1: Viso overvoltage problem solved?

Part Number: ISOW7841A-Q1

The datasheet no longer recommends to have an input capacitor 100uF larger than the output capacitor. Does that mean that the ISOW7841A-Q1 device can no longer loose Viso regulation in some cases if the Vcc capacitance is too small?

  • Hi Florian,

Welcome to TI E2E forum and thank you for your interest in ISOW7841A-Q1.

Yes, ISOW7841A-Q1 doesn't have a requirement of having an additional input capacitor of 100µF. Using the minimum recommended capacitance of 10µF + 0.1µF would be sufficient for the device to operate as expected in the datasheet and you shouldn't see any VISO regulation issues. Yes, this is the reason datasheet doesn't have any mention of 100µF additional capacitance at the input.

Let me know if you have any further questions, thanks.
