ISO7742: Using different Vcci, Vcco

Part Number: ISO7742

Dear Team,

My customer would like to use ISO7742FDWR in two different scenarios :

1. Vcci=3.3V ; Vcco=5V

2. Vcci=5V ; Vcco=3.3V

As a result our questions are :

1. Is it allowed work with different voltages on Vcci/Vcco ? (Datasheet demonstrates only cases where Vcci=Vcco)

2. Are there any additional considerations on which of the Vcc1/Vcc2 should be the higher/lower voltages

Best regards,

Nir

  • Hi Nir,

Yes, it is perfectly fine to supply the two sides ISO7742 with two different supply voltages. The datasheet lists electrical characteristics for VCC1 and VCC2 for 2.5V, 3.3V and 5V. Since VCC1 and VCC2 are independent, the electrical characteristics for VCC1 or VCC2 can be referred independently irrespective of what the other supply voltage is. Please read below FAQ for more details.
