ISO1176: Implications of 'Sticky Bit' issue

Section 10.2.2.2 of the datasheet details what is called a 'Sticky Bit' issue of this chip. However, I'm struggling to tell if this applies in our application as I'm not sure if the wording on this section is correct. In particular this quote is unclear:

At a signaling rate of 40 Mbps,each valid data bit has a duration of 25 ns. At typical Profibus signaling rates of 12 Mbps or lower, each valid data bit has a duration of 83 ns or more.The ISO1176 correctly sets the R output for each of these valid data bits.

Does this mean that the issue does not affect communications below 12Mbps? What is confusing me is that it talks before this about the output sticking in the wrong state for up to 30uS, yet this is massively longer than the 83ns bit duration at 12 Mbps. Should this be 30nS, not 30uS, or am I misunderstanding something here?

We are only running our product up to 12Mbps so we want to understand if we need to be aware of this issue and work out what the implications might be.
