ISO7342C: ISO7342 input frequency sweep

Part Number: ISO7342C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7742

Hello,

I would like to know ISO7342 activity when input frequency sweeping.

According datasheet Figure 18. Block Diagram, the device has Low(DC - 100kbps) and High(100kbps - 25Mbps) frequency channel.

I have 2 questions about it.

Q1. When input frequency is swept, dose the device output glitches?

Q2. Does TI test input sweeping test (or some kind of screening test) in the shipping inspection?

Best Regards,

Matsushita

  • Hi Matsushita,

Thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in ISO7342C. Please see my inputs below.

No, the outputs of ISO7342C do not glitch when their input data frequency is swept from 0Hz to 12.5MHz (25Mbps) at any rate or order.

No, there is no screening or production test to test device for input frequency sweeps. Support for input signal frequencies is taken care and guaranteed in design and device is sufficiently characterized and verified during development for various input frequencies. Apart from this, the device has been in production for more than 6 years and we haven't heard from any customers having any glitch issues.

Though ISO7342C should work just fine for your application, I would also recommend you to take a look at ISO7742. ISO7742 is the latest generation device with performance being better than ISO7342C in almost every specification. Let me know if you have any questions, thanks.

  • Hi Rao-san,

    Thank you for kind support.

Just in case, I want to use narrow frequency band than ISO7742, so I chose ISO7342C.

    Much appreciated.
