SN6501-Q1: Schematic for 12V OUTPUT

Part Number: SN6501-Q1

Dear TI,

Could you please review at the below schematic for higher output voltage i.e. 5V - 12V isolated supply using SN6501-Q1

let me know if any there any concerns or improvement that can be done.

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Anand M

  • Hi Anand,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing schematic for review.

The schematic looks good and it should support 12V @ 100mA. It is important to note that the 12V output will have some voltage variation with load current, I would recommend to test for output voltage variation with load and see if this variation is okay. If this variation is larger than what you would like, then you can think of using a very low drop-out voltage LDO at the output. It is also very important to have well regulated 5V input to make sure 12V is also well regulated.

When designing the PCB layout, please do make sure the 0.1µF (C528) stays closer to VCC pin of SN6501-Q1 while the 10µF (C527) stays closer to the transformer pin 2. Thanks.
