ISO7720: Iso leve shifting from minus 5 to plus five

Part Number: ISO7720

Can the part or one of it's brother level shift 0 to minus five  up to 5V to ground?

That is

VCCI=0

GNDI=-5

VCCO=5

GNDO=0

Will this work?

  • Hi Bob,

    Thank you for using E2E Forum and for showing your interest in ISO7720.

    All of TI digital isolators can be used as level translators and the potential difference between the sides of isolation barrier can be upto 1000Vrms for ISO7720. The voltage configuration that you specified is a valid configuration, please make sure the voltage levels at INA & INB inputs pins are in the range between GNDI-0.5V and VCCI+0.5V. This means that for VCCI = 0V & GNDI = -5V, INA voltage should be between -4.5V to 0.5V with respect to GNDI.

    I hope my inputs are clear to you, if you have any questions on the above explanation please feel free to let us know. Thanks.
