ISO7831 and ISO7841 datasheet description

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7831, ISO7841

Hello,

Please let me confirm ISO7841 and ISO7831 are saying the same.

ISO7831: VPR

ISO7841: Qpd

If my understanding is correct, then

1) Why is these two description different? The customer would like to know why they are the same description.

2) Is there any partial discharge condition data? The customer would like to know below items.

 a) Start voltage

 b) Stop voltage

 c) turn on time

 d) turn off time

Best regards,

Toshihiro Watanabe

  • Hi,

    1. Vpr and Qpd parameters in both data sheets represent the exact same test and test setup. The data sheet was changed for ISO7841 to align with the VDE Standard terminology. This information will also be updated in the next revision of ISO7831 data sheet.

    2. I'm checking with the test team if partial discharge test condition data can be shared on this forum.

    Thanks,
    Saleem

  • Hi,

I responded to your first question yesterday. Following is the response to your second question:

    2)

Both ISO7831 and ISO7841DW use same program and same conditions for Final test.

Following is the representative waveform being used for final test:
