ISO1050: ISO1050 transmission problem when shielding is applied

Part Number: ISO1050

Hi team,

My customer has encountered a problem with ISO1050 when they use shielding on top of the IC case, they found the ISO1050 would cause the MCU into the fault state "BUS OFF" by transmitting/receiving wrong CAN data more than 255 counts. Please see the illustration below:

Shielding Image(need to make a cut-out for ISO1050 otherwise it transmit the wrong data on CAN):

Have you seen this issue before?

Thanks a lot.

Best Regards,

Wei-Hao

  • Wei-Hao,

I'm sorry to hear that the customer is having this problem. Is the shield connected to a ground? If so, which one? Can the customer provide scope shots of the CAN bus during the error? Also, would the customer be able to share the portion of the schematic that involves the ISO1050?

    Respectfully,
    Lucas
