ISO1410: should be used in new design ?

Part Number: ISO1410
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO3082, , PROFIBUS

Dear Ti Experts,

My customer used ISO3082 in their product and it is MP now. They will kick off a new project with isolate requirment, they've noticed a new device ISO1410. They want to know if this one is the hero device, or they should just keep to use ISO3082. Could you kindly help to give some advices? Thanks a lot.

  • Hi Bruce,

Thank you for reaching out to us for checking on ISO1410. The device ISO1410 is a TI's latest generation of isolated RS-485 transceiver with improved performance over ISO3082. The following points list some of the advantages that ISO1410 brings over ISO3082. Thanks.

    1. Employs On-Off Keying (OOK) architecture.
    2. Supports wide logic side (1.71V to 5.5V) and bus side (3V to 5.5V) power supply voltages.
    3. Improved EMC performance.
    4. Profibus compliant.
    5. Supports reinforced isolation.
    6. Much higher isolation specifications.
    7. pin-compatible to ISO3082 and most other isolated RS-485 transceivers.
