ISOW7841: What is the input capacitance for each channel? What capacitance can each channel drive?

Part Number: ISOW7841

What is the capacitance on the input of each channel of this part?  How many pF can each channel drive? I realize that the load capacitance and data rate are related, but I cannot find either the data or a graph showing that.  I have searched the data sheet for the ISOW7841 and cannot find these specifications anywhere.

Please help.  My MCU must drive a number of them and I need to know if I have to buffer them.

Best regards,

Peter

  • Hi Peter,

Sorry that the input capacitance value of each channel is not available in ISOW7841 datasheet.

The typical value of input capacitance for each channel is about 2pF, hence these inputs can be easily driven. Regarding the max capacitance that each channel output can drive, please note that we usually do not characterize the outputs to find the max load capacitance they can drive.

Most digital inputs generally have low input capacitance and ISOW7841 can drive most of such capacitive loads. We believe you should not face any issues in driving loads upto 100pF but do note that the load capacitance is going to affect rise and fall times leading to a upper limit on max datarate that can be supported. Thanks.
