I have a circuit whose data lines need isolation.I want to use the  ISOW7842FDWE chip to do this.

I am hooking up my +5vdc supply and ground to the Vcc and GND1 pin prospectively.  On the other side of the isolation, I have an a isolated ground that belongs to the data lines coming in from the isolated side hooked up to GND2. I also have the select pin connected to GND2 as well. This will give me 3.3vdc from the Viso line.

These data lines I wanted isolated come into my board via a connector. On the connector is the 3.3vdc and grounds associated with these data lines.Connecting up the data lines is not a problem, Connecting the grounds to the GND2 pin is not a problem. What about the Viso 3.3 pin and the 3.3vdc power coming from the connector. I really don't want to power up this device using the 3.3vdc coming from the isolation chip if power were to go down on the connecting circuit.

Is it possible to leave this line disconnected (with maybe exception to some capacitors) having the signal lines referenced to GND2 and using the 3.3 provided by the incoming circuits from the connector. Will the circuit work?

I added my schematic of what I am trying to do as well.4786.ISOW7842FDWE Question.docx
