ISO1541: Please help to review below schematic.

Part Number: ISO1541

Hi,

could you please help to review below schematics?

Thanks and best regards,

Sophia

  • Hi Sophia,

Thanks for asking your question on E2E!

I have some initial thoughts / questions looking over this schematic:

    1. Could you explain the purpose of Q25?
    2. Could you explain the purpose of Q28?
    3. Could you explain the purpose of Q23?
    4. I2C_EN_U is connected to GND_B through Q19, but is also connected on the GND_U side of the device. I believe this would violate the isolation barrier.
    5. What voltages are VCC_U, VCC_B?
    6. Are there pull-up resistors on another part of the schematic for SDA_B, SCL_B?
    7. What is the ISO1541 interfacing with on the "U" / SDA2 side? Typically this is the I2C bus with several devices connected.
    8. What is the ISO1541 interfacing with on the "B" / SDA1 side? Typically this is the MCU side with just a single device.

    Best regards,

    Dan

  • This discussion is being handled offline in order to share more of the schematic.

The major findings will be summarized and posted on this thread afterwards.

  • After reviewing the schematic there were no major findings.

The ISO1541 is being used primarily for level translation.
