ISO7641FM: ISO7641

Part Number: ISO7641FM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1234, ISO7741

Hi,

The application circuit provided in the datasheet is shown in below figure.

Question 1 : The I/O level of A0, A1, SCLK and DOUT are 5v or 3.3?

Question 2 : If the I/O level (mentioned in question no 1) is 5V. If ISO7641FM providing Capacitive isolation and as well as Voltage Translator ?

  • Hi Shreyas,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your questions. Please find below my inputs to your questions.

A1: I believe your question is ADS1234 digital input logic levels. Since this is an isolation forum I will be able to answer your isolator related question, for ADS1234 question I would recommend you to post the same question in ADC forum as well. I did have a quick look at ADS1234 datasheet and I can see that the digital I/O levels DVDD supply dependent, as shown below. If you use 5V for DVDD then the I/Os will be as per 5V logic levels. I still recommend you to check with the ADC team.

A2: Yes, the isolator will also be working as a level translator. This is primarily due to the reason that the device has two dice inside each one operating on two different supplies independently. Hence, these supply voltages can be either 5V or 3.3V irrespective of each other and the I/O levels on the respective supply will be in accordance its supply voltage.

Please note that ISO7641 is one of our device isolator families. For optimum performance and cost, I would recommend you to choose our latest digital isolator ISO77xx. The equivalent device in ISO77xx family is ISO7741. Thanks.
