ISOW7840: secondary output signal level

Part Number: ISOW7840

Hello expert,

My customer would like to know if OUTx will be pulled high to VISO level when OUTx is floating. From block diagram, this is not related voltage level but I would like to double check. Thanks a lot!!

Best regards,

Ann Lien

  • Hi Ann,

Not sure I understand your question correctly, did you mean to ask if the data OUTx pins HIGH output voltage level will match VISO voltage level when there is no external pull-up resistor used? Could you please confirm that?

Please refer to the below image from datasheet electrical characteristics section that states about the HIGH output voltage level in relation to VISO. Let me know if this is what you are looking for, thanks.

  • Hello Koteshwar,

May I know if we can use different pull high voltage level for OUTx? We now changing 5Vout for VISO and want to pull signal high to 3.3V. Thanks a lot!!

  • Hi Ann,

Since the outputs are hard driven to VISO internally, pulling up externally to a lower lower voltage might not change the output voltage level. Customer may have to use an external voltage level translator if they want the I/Os to be of different voltage than the VISO. Thanks.
