ISO1640: Please provide VOH for both Side1 and Side 2 of ISO1640

Part Number: ISO1640

Hi, Please provide the ISO1640 VOH for both Side 1 and Side 2.  We can only find VIH and VIL and VOL.

We are connect VCC1 and VCC2 to 3.3V separately.

  • Hi Aaron,

Thank you for posting to E2E! Since I2C is an open-drain/open-collector communication protocol, ISO1640 does not output any HIGH level voltages. During HIGH signal states, the I2C bus pins of the device are high impedance, and the connection to Vcc through a pull-up resistor provides the HIGH signal voltage level.

    Thank you,

    Manuel Chavez

  • Hi Aaron,

Adding just a little more to see if this helps with the customer -

On page 8 of the datasheet, we have input leakage current max of 10uA max. So the customer can use the following to determine what the min VOH would be depending on their pull up resistor value.

     (VCC – Rpullup x 10uA) = VOH min.

This is for our device only. If other devices are on the bus, they may also have some leakage bringing the VOH min lower.

    Thanks,

    Tony
