ISO7741: CTI (Comparative tracking index) material certified by UL ? Urgent Help/

Part Number: ISO7741

Hello Team,

My customer is going to use our ISO7741 DBQ package.

Then engineer wants to make sure that our CTI can be certified by UL.

They need creepage distance is more than 3mm with CTI>600V.

Our data sheet shows CTI>600V with test condition DIN EN 60112 (VDE 0303-11); IEC 60112

Does it mean that CTI can be certified by UL ?

If it s not certified by UL, it may be recognized as material group III (lowest) and needs wider distance on the design.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Jin

  • Hi Jin,

ISO7741 in DBQ package meets customer requirement of 3mm creepage and CTI > 600V and ISO7741 CTI rating is also certified by UL. Customer can proceed with using ISO7741 DBQ package and we do not expect to see any issues with that. Thanks.

  • Hello Rao,

    Thanks for your feedback.

Is there any report that UL certify  CTI> 600? (Can you show me a report that describes the UL certification conditions ?)
The certification conditions could not be confirmed from ISO7741 UL report
Specifically, Engineer would like to know the following items. If the followings are included in the UL certification report, it should be OK.

    ・ CTI> 600
    ・ Molding resin material
・ UL file Number of resin material

    Best Regards,

    Jin
