What's the speed rate for standard CAN-FD?
competition ADM3050E can be up to 12Mbps. however, i don't see 12Mbps speed rate in TI materials. Will TI develop similar one? Very thanks.
Thanks for posting your question on E2E!
This app note summarizes the CAN FD timing requirements according to the latest ISO11898-2:2016. As you can see, the standard specifies the timing parameters only up to 5 Mbps and our ISO1044 meets all requirements.
However, we have seen some competitor devices (including ADM3050E) claim higher data rates on their datasheets. If you compare the 2 Mbps and 5 Mbps, these are very similar to our ISO1044 timing parameters. If we were to extrapolate our ISO1044 timing parameters to higher data rates (though not characterized / part of our datasheet), they will be similar to the competitor devices.
Can you please share you customer application details? Please feel free to send me a personal email if unable to post the details on a public forum.
