Thanks, Peter. From the vision processing standpoint, TI has a wide range of embedded processing products to address the compute needs of this particular sensing modality. We do have IR temperature sensors, but as far as I know, we don't currently have any IR imaging sensors.
We are glad that we were able to resolve this issue, and will now proceed to close this thread.

TI has reference designs that can apply to advanced driver assist features. Will this transition into the autonomous car design or will it require something completely different, such as a new electrical system that replaces current technology?
My company is in development of a wide FOV, high resolution, low cost thermal IR imager operating between 3 and 14 microns, which is mid and far IR from one imager and one lens. Our detector is sensitive to IR from 2 to 15 microns. Is there a group at TI that is working in this area that I should be talking to?

Thanks, Ray. We believe that autonomous vehicles will be introduced in phases and we'll be able to leverage the flexibility of our existing ADAS embedded processing solutions for the initial phases of deployment. Ultimately, our embedded processing solutions will evolve with the needs of autonomous vehicle features.

Do auto makers plan to introduce automated features to all cars?
I would be interested in contacting the video µC people as well as the interface people for connection to display monitors. What kind of video data is needed to output from the system for detecting things like motion of an object, size and mass of an object, direction of movement etc.? Is anyone at TI involved in these subjects?

Currently, some high end vehicles have level 2 (NHTSA definition for autonomous vehicles) features like lane keeping used in combination with adaptive cruise control. Over time, vehicles autonomy features will increase in sophistication and eventually trickle down to entry level vehicles.
