TPA3110D2-Q1: the absolute max of current about output FET

Dear all,

Are there the absolute max of current about output FET?

■Question 1,

How about Drain-Source current when output FET_ON?

■Question 2,

How about body-diode current when output FET_OFF?

*In my opinion,

both current is determined by thermal protection. Is this correct?

Best regards,

  • Hi Yamamoto-san,

I've assigned this post to the appropriate applications engineer. She will respond to your question.

  • Yamamoto-san,

    1. Short circuit protection will activate somewhere between about 4 to 7A. The short circuit protection will turn the FETs off.
    2. The body diode can handle about the same amount of current as the drain-source current; however, there is no over-current protection in place. It is also not a fully characterized diode, so it is better to make sure that the current through the diode stays well below this limit.

These current limits are not considering thermal limitations.

    Thanks,
