The test of SAE J 1752-x

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27201, SN65HVDA100, UCC27423, UCC27531, UCC27423-Q1, SN65HVDA100-Q1, UCC27531-Q1

I would like to confirm whether you test SAE J 1752-1, 2, 3 against ICs or not.

The customer ask it to me. They want to confirm the data for ;

UCC27201/UCC27423/UCC27531/SN65HVDA100/TPS7A6350.

I think you don't test them to IC. If you test it, could you please provide the data?

  • Hello Atsushi-san,

The UCC27201 and UCC27423 both have -Q1 version available (not the UCC27531 though). Is the information needed for UCC27201/UCC27423 or  UCC27201-Q1/UCC27423-Q1?

    Thank you and Best Regards,

    Wen-Shin Wang

  • Hi Atushi,

Who is your customer and can you tell me more about the opportunity?

Unfortunately the SN65HVDA100-Q1 device was never tested per SAE1752 test standard to my knowledge. This test specification appears to me to be a system level test, where the device would need to be communicating while the measurement is taking place.

A similar test that has been performed (which was required by Ford) is a radiated emissions test that takes place in an anechoic chamber instead of a TEM Cell like the standard you were asking about. In this test two module communicate back and forth while a variety of antennae are placed in different orientations measureing the radiated emissions performance. They Ford EMC-CS-2009.1 specification refers to the test as RE310 (Radiated Emissions).

An additional test that was performed is conducted emissions which was carried out by Zwickau, a private test house for European OEM approval, per the IEC 61967-4 test specification.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Thanks,

    John

  • Dear Wen-Shin-san,

    Thank you for your response.

I want the data for -Q1 version, because SAE J 1752-x is the specification for Automotive.

And I heard UCC27531-Q1 will release in 3Q 2013. So, I requested it too.

    Best regards,

    Atsushi Yamauchi

  • Dear John-san,

    Thank you for your comment.

I want to tell the customer and the detail of the opportunity, but here is open space.

If possible, could you please teach your mail address?

I would like to confirm the specification you did.

    Best regards,

    Atsushi Yamauchi

  • Yamauchi-san (I apologize for the last greeting),

    My email address is johngriffith@ti.com

Please feel free to send the information to me through email.

    Thanks,

    John

  • Hello Atsushi-san,

The UCC27201-Q1 and UCC27423-Q1 were not tested against the SAE1752-1, 2, or 3 standard.  To my knowledge, this type of EMC test is not required for a device to be Q100 qualified.

  • Hi Atsushi-san,

We did not do such tests on TPS7A6350, it seems that it is a system level EMC test, usually such test will not do on LDOs.

    Best regards
