What's your application? Why need the shortprotect with 5A and ~35V DC with up to 8 channl? If like this, you need check hot-swap series like TPS249x......

not 5A!    only 0,5A up to 1A.

it is for switching Turnouts in a Modellayouts. The Custemers often do mistakes in the cabiling or the turnouts have a problem. I youse the ULN2803 thats  works but by mistakes they are not protakted.

Our product area does not have this type of device.  A couple of things closer to what you might look for areTPIC2603 or LMD18400.  I will transfer this to a fourm that might be closer.

We don't have any power switches in Industrial Interface, I will move this to the forum that supports the TPIC2603.

the LM18400 looks verry good but the price! This one with 8 Chanels will be great.

normaly i need only the short and overvoltage protektion, all other is nice to have

I will try the TPIC2603, but as an special solution i test the LMD18400 or do you now same parts with 8 Channels?
