Operating temperature range of TPS40210-Q1

Dear, All

As for the datasheet of TPS40210-Q1, the operating temperature range is indicated by Tj.
However, to the datasheet of buck type TPS40200-Q1, the operating temperature range is indicated by Ta.
Ta of a customer's demand spec. is 125℃.
Therefore, please let me know whether it is whether regulation of the operating temperature range is Tj or Ta.

    Masami-san,

     

    The Tj or junction temerature is the real limit of the device and what we design our parts to operate to. Ta is more userful for customers, but it is very dependant on board size, number of vias, airflow, external thermal dissipation, package, etc. which makes it difficult for us to specify for customers. I am surprised the TPS40200-Q1 datasheet has a Ta parameter since we usually only specify Tj. In any case, what loading conditions are they operating this device at? If it is close to full load (ie full power dissipation) i would be  concerned, otherwise there shouldn't be any issue.
