TPS92630-Q1 Remote Thermal Shutdown

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS92630-Q1, LM60

Hello,

I want to thermally isolate the LED's being driven by the TPS92630-Q1. If I place a LM60 (analog output temp sensor) near the LEDs and wire the output to the TEMP pin of the TPS92630-Q1 can I shutdown the device based on that temperature instead of the die temp of the TPS92630?

Regards,

Cameron

  • Hello Cameron, I have assigned the appropriate support engineer for the TPS92630-Q1. You should receive an answer shortly. Scott
  • Hi Cameron,

May I know what is the detailed over temperature spec for this application. For TPS92630, the temp pin is used for setting the thermal current foldback thereshold function, it can be used to derate output current when die temperature inreases, it can not realize TPS92630 shut down function.Actually TPS92630 has integrated TSD function, if it can't meet the requirements, EN pin can be used to shutdown the device by using external circuit.

  • Anda,

Thank you for your response. I misspoke. I don't want it to go into thermal shutdown I want it to derate the current with a remote temperature instead of the die temperature

    Regards,

    Cameron
