TPS92630Q1.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS92630-Q1

Hi Team,

One of our  automotive customer is designing with TPS92630Q1 and below is the configuration.

Two PCBs placed at distance of 42cm, on  PCB1 TPS92630 is placed along with 2 series LED's connected to channel 1 and  PCB2 to operate another 2 series Leds with channel 2. Distance between PCB1 and PCB2 is ~42cm and connect each other with  0.35mm2 wire. LED driving current is 22mA min and 38mA max with Vf = 2.65V.

Attached is the block diagram for your quick reference. What are the precautions taken during design in schematic and layout for this configuration, plaese help with your comment and views.

Thanks in advance for your help and support.

  • Hi Team,

Can you please help with your comments.

    Thanks, Shinu Mathew.
  • Hi Shinu,

Sorry we don't respond in time. I have moved the post to the automotive forum and the appropriate applications engineer has been notified of your post. Thanks very much for your patience.

    Best regards,

  • Thanks Shirley,

    Team,
Can you please help on the above query.

    Thanks, Shinu Mathew.
  • Mathew,

Sorry for the late reply, as this is an automotive device, so if possible please post the question to automotive forum, we will response to the question quickly.

Generally speaking, the long cable will bring in some parasitic inductance to the output loop. For the 42cm cable, as the parasitic inductance is small, TPS92630-Q1 will have no problem to support it.

  • Hi Anda,

    Thanks for the reply.

We tested the same in the EVM and is working fine.

From the same customer we have one more query for different applications. Customer need input from our side regarding TPS92630 performance for below application.

During Ignition ON and ignition OFF, LEDs will blink with PWM signal on Vin pin of IC. Will have waveform as attached image with time period T2, T3, T4.

Details of PWM signal are as below:

With above pattern signal will reach to 5V with delay of 700msec at start up and similar at the end of signal. Will the required function can work with above PWM pattern( for range 5V  to 12V) at Vin pin of  TPS92630.

Please help with your valuable input on the same. Thanks in advance for your help and support.
