TPS65311-Q1/ Re-start working

Hi,

I receive the following question from my customer.

When Vin drops to below recommended operating voltage(4.8V) and rises over its voltage, can the TPS65311 work certainly?

Best Regards,

  • Hi Kuramochi-san,

I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean by the question.  I will explain the scenarios of what will happen that will hopefully give you the answer to the question.  If the question is something else please ask the question again.

When the input to the device drops below the recommended operating voltage (4.8V minimum), the device will continue to operate down to the VPOR (falling VIN) level, however the operation when the input supply is between VPOR and 4.8V recommended operating range is not specified by the datasheet so not all parametric performance may be met.  If the input drops below VPOR (falling VIN) the device will turn off (SHUTDOWN).  The supply will need to return and then wake up event will be needed to re-start the device from this loss of power.  If however the input drops below the minimum recommended operating condition and then rises again above 4.8V the device will continue to operate and will return to in specification operation when the input voltage rises above 4.8V.

    I hope that helps.

    Best Regards,

    Scott
