IVAHD H264 Encoder on Jacinto-6

Hi,

I am trying to use IVAHD H264 encoder on Jacinto-6 (running GLSDK 6_10_02, linux 3.12).

I am getting below error, could someone please help me solve this?

videnc2test 720 480 10 ./input.yuv ./out.h264 30 64 h264 baseline 10 OMAPDRM
videnc2test.c:833: init_h264_dyn_params error: Codec_control returned err=-1, extendedError=00000001
videnc2test.c:944: encoder_init error: H264 encoder static parameter error

Hi,

just one update on the issue, the input.yuv file is having YUV420SP format data.

Level 10 is wrong here. Try with 41

Thanks a lot for your help.

I have taken the above test application.

My encoded streams looks not good, i might be missing some parameters.

Could you please help me find them.

I am inputting YUV420SP at 720X576 resolution, and this is what is set in encoder params(chromaFormat = XDM_YUV_420SP, width=ALIGN2(720, 4), height=ALIGN2(576, 1)).

below are the issues.

1) Each encoded frame appears three times with three different resolutions. Please check the below image (Encoded_1.bmp).

2) There seems to be green horizontal lines and some times image flicker is observed.

Could you please help me find out the issues here.

Hi Srinivas,

there is issue with buffer management.

Can you give a try with intraFrameInterval = 1, so that only I frames are generated/

this videnc2test, test application looks written for a non-interleaved YUV input.
Could you please let me know, what changes do i need to do to this test application?

Hi Srinivas,
IVAHD encoders expect always 420SP yuv only always. So read_NV12frame is properly reading Y and UV data as expected.

Can you check the behaviour with MPEG4 encoding?

Hi Srinivas,
There is no issue with videnc2test application. Issue is with libdce userspace library.

Clone libdce from git://git.omapzoom.org/repo/libdce.git and rebuild libdce. and replace all libdce* in targetfs with new files. You will not see the issue.

If you have access to glsdk 7.00.00.04 targetfs, copy these libdce.so files and copy to your 6.10 targetfs.

Is there a way to ask H264 encoder to give out an SPS/PPS for what it is currently configured ?

Hi Srinivas,

Try setting naluPresentMaskIDRPicture = 0x1A0.

Currently it is set to 0x20.

Ramprasad,

in the latest videnc2test, i am trying to set "encodingPreset = XDM_HIGH_QUALITY".
(git.ti.com/.../videnc2test.c)

VIDENC2_control fails for setting the above parameter. Could you guide me, what other params needs to be changed to use above setting.
And if possible, could you please give me the link, for IVAHD decoder/encoder guide.

Hi Srinivas,

XDM_MEDIUM_QUALITY encodingPreset is not supported with H264Encoder. MEDIUM_SPEED_HIGH_QUALITY can be used.

You can find the documents for each codec in ipumm directory which you might have installed with GLSDK.

component-sources/ipumm_3_00_06_00/extrel/ti/ivahd_codecs/packages/ti/sdo/codecs

encodingPreset is creation time parameter, you should observe with VIDENC2_create . I guess it is not with VIDENC2_control.
