Some my clients are using NXP BGU8007 or MAXIM MAX2640 now for car GPS trackers. I want to replace it by TRF37B73 or similar.
But TRF has lower gain, higher noise and current consumption is higher in 6-15 times!!! It’s very important parameters.
TRF has some advantages too – no need to use external LDO (3.3 or 5 V is present in scheme usually, 1.8-2.5 is not present most times), no need to use external balun.
Internal compensation in TRF37x7x is not required external high stability LDO?
Why current consumption is so high?
