Most ADCs have input ranges in the order of volts, while the antenna signal can be as low as a fraction of a uV. I wonder if it's the way to go to amplify these signals by 120 dB (!?) without creating other problems in the circuit. Or is it that only voltage is amplified by not power (or not that much)?

I am planning on using the CC1120 transceiver on a nano-satellite on amateur bands. We have a UHF and a VHF frequency.

My issue is that because of frequency allocation, we are restricted to using either 135MHz or 148MHz for VHF. On the CC1120 datasheet, it says it is capable to operate at those frequencies yet it is not listed in detail.

Does anyone have any idea how to use those frequencies with the CC1120?

Thanks!

It seems that the file dowloading stops at 40 000 Ko (same with Chrome or IE), so the file is incomplete.
We are developing RF PCB based on CC2541. We refers to tidrc156a.zip, it is dual layer postage stamp reference design guide included gerber data and drill data.

Here transmission line width is 0.3mm(Dielectric - FR4 0.8mm copper thickness 35um each layer).

For our PCB we are confused which calculator to be used to calculate transmission line width either microstrip or CPW(Co-planar wave).

Microstrip Impedance calculator reflects width of 1.41mm and

CPW calculator reflects width of 1mm.

Still these is much differencein transmission line width between the reference(tidc156a.zip) and calculator value whether it may be microstrip or CPW.

Our board specifications are:-

Dielectric width 0.8mm, copper thickness 35um, Dielectric coefficient 4.6 and operating frequency 2400MHz.

Please guide us which calculator to be used and how to calculate the transmission line width to match impedance correctly.
