OPA4872-EP: as a video mutiplexer

Hi

I intend to use OPA4872-ep as a video multiplexer as a replacement of Max440. Is it recommended for video multiplexer? From the spec it looks that it can be used as a video multiplexer?

Does video multiplexer has some special characteristics? I consider OPA4872 can be used as video multiplexer but can you please comment on it.

Also i need to cascade two multiplexers as a 8:1. I want to short A1 pin of two multiplexers and drive it from a host microcontroller. Will it be a problem?

    Yes, I believe the OPA4872-EP device has superior performance compared to the MAX440 including lower power consumption, higher bandwidth, better gain flatness, and better differential phase and gain error.

    You could achieve a 7:1 MUX with two OPA's in cascaded with the output of OPA1 feeding MUX1 input of OPA1 and MUX2-4 inputs of OPA2 available for signals. To get to 8 inputs (up to 10) you would need three 4:1 MUX's cascaded. Also, I'm not sure how shorting channel control A1 would help you. Perhaps I'm not understanding what you've asked so if you have a architectural drawing, it might be helpful.

    As I'm not familiar with these products or this application, you would have to confirm if your system requirements are met by the device specifications.
